I spent time with Mountain Skills Academy & Adventures across Whistler and Squamish, documenting their guided mountain tours with a focus on capturing the experience as it unfolds in real time.
The focus was on the Via Ferrata tour in Whistler, documenting a guided group as they scaled Blackcomb Mountain. I balanced wide landscape imagery with more intimate moments, showing both the scale of the environment and the group’s journey through the route. This included the gondola as part of the wider experience, helping to set the tone from start to finish. I also focused on the interaction between guide and participants, capturing natural engagement throughout the climb, alongside moments of the group enjoying the experience.
I then documented climbing services in Squamish, following a one-to-one session above rushing rapids and onto exposed rock in alpine terrain. The imagery combined dramatic scenery with the focus and intensity of the climb.
